Part 4 — Beginning With the Qur'an

Beginning With the Qur'an

The Qur'an is Allah's revelation to humanity. As a new Muslim, you do not need to read Arabic fluently, memorize many surahs or understand the whole Qur'an before you can begin building a relationship with Allah's Book.

Start small. Learn what you need for salah, begin becoming familiar with the Arabic script, read a trustworthy translation to understand the meaning, and grow step by step.

Your first priority is not to master everything. If you are still learning the words needed for prayer, keep working on those first. Qur'an reading, understanding and memorization can grow alongside your worship over time.
