The prayer is five times a day. This part is the rest of the day.

Islam is not confined to worship — it has something to say about what you eat, what you wear, how you earn, and what comes out of your mouth when you are startled. For a revert this is where the religion stops being something you do and starts being something you live inside, and it is also where most of the awkward questions come up.

None of it is urgent in your first week. Learn to pray first. Come back here once that is steady.

A note on pace. Do not try to change your food, your finances and your wardrobe in the same month. Reverts who attempt everything at once tend to abandon all of it. Pick the one that matters most in your life, do that properly, and let the others wait.
